Gratitude Week 2023 at John’s Crazy Socks

Stores are all shouting about Black Friday and Cyber Monday and they make it all about them and what customers can do for them: Buy, buy, buy. At John’s Crazy Socks, we know it is all about you, our customer.

In keeping with the Thanksgiving holiday, we stage Gratitude Week, a full week of saying thank you to our customers and showing our appreciation for your support by giving you prizes and gifts. You might call it a family tradition. As part of that effort, John Cronin, co-founder and Chief Happiness Office at John’s Crazy Socks, gets on the phone to call and personally thank customers.  John may even call you.

“We have a mission to spread happiness,” said John. “The keys to happiness are doing for others and gratitude.” John added, “I love meeting and talking to customers and get excited to speak to so many customers during Gratitude Week.”

It is a matter of commitment to the customer. We offer gifts and discounts and increase our commitment to Giving Back. John’s co-founder and father, Mark X. Cronin, said, “We don't chase transactions, we are building relationships with our customers. We create meaningful and memorable customer experiences.”

Gratitude Week, Not Merely Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Beginning on Sunday, November 19 and running through Giving Back Tuesday on November 28, John’s Crazy Socks will be adding gifts to orders as a way to show our customers how much we appreciate them.  And every day, John will be calling customers to say thank you.

Our commitment to happiness is what drives us to create Gratitude Week. When you buy from us, you enable us to employ people with differing abilities. More than half our colleagues have a differing ability. When you buy from us, you support our Giving Back Program that has donated over $650,000 to our charity partners like the Special Olympics, the Autism Society of America and the National Down Syndrome Society.

Gratitude Week Culminates in Giving Back Tuesday

Giving Back is baked into everything we do. On Giving Back Tuesday, we just do more. This year, we will donate five percent from all sales to the Special Olympics. John and many of our colleagues are Special Olympic athletes and Mark coaches John’s snowshoe team.

“I am a Special Olympic athlete,” said John. “I love the Special Olympics.”

The donation made on Giving Back Tuesday is in addition to our year-round Giving Back Program. We donate five percent of earnings to the Special Olympics and five percent from our Sock of the Month Club to the Special Olympics. We have created a long line of Awareness Socks that raise awareness and celebrate causes and raise money for those causes like the Autism Society of America, the National Down Syndrome Society, United Cerebral Palsy and the North Shore Animal League America.

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than half their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $650,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, they are Spreading Happiness™.
